Paintings are created in the atelier in Schwabhausen – from free compositions to commissioned works for private individuals. Each painting is a standalone work, not part of a series.
Mosaics made of natural stone, glass and ceramic for walls, objects and public spaces. The technique combines classic craftsmanship with a distinctive, colorful visual language.
For the project „Bahn wird bunt", Gesa Blaas redesigned Erdweg train station together with around 250 participants. Many individual contributions came together to form a shared mosaic artwork.
In workshops with school classes in the Dachau district, mosaics are created that children and young people lay themselves. Art education that stays hands-on.
At Erdweg train station in the Dachau district, Gesa Blaas initiated and led a participatory art project: around 250 people from the region worked together to redesign the station.
The result is a mosaic artwork that now defines the station – carried by many individual contributions and an idea that brings art and community together.
Gesa Blaas runs an atelier for painting and mosaic art in Schwabhausen. Alongside her own artistic works, she realizes participatory art projects in public spaces, such as the redesign of Erdweg train station with around 250 participants, as well as mosaic projects with schools.
As first chairwoman of Kulturverein Erdweg e.V., she is active beyond the atelier in the cultural life of the Erdweg and Schwabhausen region.
The atelier is located in Schwabhausen. The work is especially visible in Erdweg, where the participatory project „Bahn wird bunt" has shaped the train station. Artistic works for private individuals, municipalities and schools are also created in the wider Dachau district.
